Absolutely one of my all time favorite places to eat! The fries are amazing. The fried mushrooms are even better. The marinated chicken chunks are the best ever! The service is always good. Best part? They give St. John's residents a decent discount if you ask for it, and they bring a tootsie pop for each person with your check. Definitely a great place to go! But beware- it's mostly outdoor seating and it gets hot in the summer.

The family and I visited this place 5 days ago. My wife told me about this place because she and a good friend of hers visited it beforehand and they loved it. My wife had the chipotle bean burger, my daughter had nachos with cheese, bell peppers among other things, my youngest son had a cheeseburger split down the middle, with fries, and I had a quesadilla with marinated chicken with guacamole, sour cream, etc. We also had these fries that reminded me of these excellent Cajun flavored fries from Five Guys! Whoo! Everything was excellent! We had free refills on the pink lemonade which is always a big plus in the kids' book. I must confess it was a big plus for me too! :) We sat outside and enjoyed watching pigeons greet us every couple of seconds. The service was excellent. Our server was very polite and professional. I was very pleased to learn there are locations in Jacksonville Beach, and on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville. I hope everything we experienced at this location is not unique here. Guess time will tell.

Fried mushrooms, cheddar fries and their spicy chicken chunks dipped in their housemade ranch = perfection. Grew up eating here and still can't get enough of it!

The food is a B, the servers are friendly , but can get overwhelm at times ;So might have slow service . 5 stars would be giving on faster service and better food . At end gives kids lollypops. Which is great for desert because it is for free.

Not bad! Good service and food, great outdoor seating and location is primo. Looking for a spot right on st. George with food and beers this is a good stop.

Cruisers of St. Augustine has the same menu as the one in Jax. Bch.. We ordered the Fried Mushrooms appetizer and they were great. Steaming hot and sizziling, served with Blue Cheese or Ranch dipping sauces. I ordered both cause I like both. My order was the Spicy Fried Catfish Sandwich with chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce, red onion, pickle and tomato for $5.99. The spices weren't recognizable with the first bite, but by the time you finish you are aware that you have eaten some zing. Not to much though, I wasn't sweating or begging for more tea. The atmosphere is completely different. Of course, how does any location compete with St. George Street? It was the weekend so the outside patio was packed. They had a 3 piece band playing right at the front and they were VERY loud, so I requested a back table. The reason for this is sometimes you just have to yell at your kids to behave out in public. I didn't feel like yelling to yell at them :) We got a back table around the corner, nothing to write home about, but it was perfect for our needs. The service was slow, but that was expected with a packed house and though the kitchen was pumping out food, it just wasn't for the same table all the time. So some were left watching their table mates eat without them while sheepishly stealing a fry or two from their plates. I will go back and will suggest it to you too. If you are looking for a well priced, quick bite, it can be found at Cruiser's.

Eh. Food was OK. Nothing to write home about. Service was average. Very little area for inside seating so dont expect A/C after walking up and down St George's St. I have eaten here 4 times over the past year to keep giving this place another chance. At best, this place is mediocre, and I'm pretty sure they only get decent business because they are really the only option for a casual restaurant choice on St Georges. Never have left this restaurant not feeling a little disappointed to pay $9 for a meal that is worth maybe $3.50.

Chicken Chunks, cheese fries and a Milk Shake. If that sounds good to you, you will love Cruisers. Be sure to stop into their St. George St. location so that you can walk off all that yumminess as you explore the city. Oh and their home made ranch is what dreams are made of, DELICIOUS!

Perfect place for lunch in the historic district. I tried a cheeseburger at Cruisers last weekend and fell in love. Their burgers are amazing and the fries are even better. Sure they have other menue items as well but I can still taste that burger in my mouth. They serve great portion sizes and bring every item of food out the second it is ready so it is always piping hot and fresh. I couldn' ask for a better or more chilled out place to eat lunch.

100% awesome. Nice owner, friendly staff, killer food.

My husband and I both ordered cheeseburgers and we were not impressed. They had cooked mine to death and the shredded lettuce on the burger tasted old and the cheddar cheese on my husbands burger didn't taste like anything. We ordered cheese fries with cheddar cheese and again cheese tasted like nothing, fries underneath tasted fine though. Prices had gone up from the menu price and were not mentioned until we received our bill, .50 a burger is not a big deal but it still should have been mentioned before hand. Will not be returning.

Good place to go that right on the site seeing path. Staff was very nice.

Fairly basic menu, and another place where fries don't come with the sandwich. With that being said, the fried catfish sandwich (no bones, no worries) was delicious and the chipotle mayonnaise complimented it well. Highly recommend getting this sandwich. Much better (and cheaper) then that crummy Milltop Tavern a few steps over.

Solid little sandwich/burger joint. Quick, efficient and friendly service. Recommended for quick lunch. Reasonable prices.

We never miss our Cruisers burger when visiting...cheese fries with ranch are great! A fun, relaxed, friendly burger joint.

Good food and service. Wish they had more indoor seating, though. Our waiter was great and our burgers were cooked as ordered. Definitely a great place for burgers and fries.

Great location in downtown St. Augustine with very large outdoor nonsmoking seating area. Turkey burger was one of the best I've had. Wish they had one or two healthier sides.

    (5)
  • Mike T.

Good pub grub style food with a decent beer selection. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend their fries and ranch, best I've had. Just get past the tourists and you're good.

We went on a Monday and the place was NOT that busy. We were directly in the path of the servers, so they HAD to have seen us. We had no drinks at our table, so it was obvious that we had not yet been helped. We watched the servers walk past us for 20 minutes. Then we saw someone from another table approach one of the servers and complain that they had been there for 30 minutes and their order had not yet been taken. The response was a politely worded version of "we'll get to you when we get to you". Needless to say, we went elsewhere.

Excellent food and excellent service. If you get Shayla as your server consider yourself lucky. Our first time here and all 6 of us left completely satisfied. Highly recommended. Cool outside patio, great location, and a wide menu. Food portions are huge so be prepared for leftovers. The marinated chicken was fantastic.

I would love this location more in the winter months! Most of the seating is outside so it can get very hot. I will return when it's cooler.

This restaurant is tucked away in the pedestrian friendly area of the historic district. We stopped in during our museum hopping adventures in the area. There is very limited indoor seating but many tables in an outdoor covered area. We ordered the turkey burger, mahi tacos, and cheese fries. The food was good, but much overpriced. None of the entrees on the menu come with sides - $7.99 for a burger and no fries was expensive to me. The cheese fries were more like a block of cheddar melted, then add fries and cool till solid again. The service was extremely slow from out waiter as well, but the kitchen was fast. The waiter took over 5 minutes to even approach our table, and another 5 to bring our drinks. When we were done , we had to go track him down to get a check!

Not bad great service. Good food! Der go again for a relaxing meal. Although food took a bit longer than desired it was worth the wait.

Dank food at a great price point. Jay and the staff are very friendly. Fries are next level. Can't get away from the marinated chicken sandwich either.

First time here .... Food was ok, but nothing special. Fried mushrooms were very good , served with ranch dressing and a horseradish sauce. ... But horseradish sauce looked to be partially frozen .... Also had the marinated chicken soft tacos. Little least, as it appears the chicken was marinated AFTER it was cooked , which led to very messy tacos. Toppings for the tacos tasted good , but presentation wise, they weren't as appetizing as they could have been ... Slightly wilting shredded lettuce and guacamole that could have used a little more lemon juice on the avocado when it was prepped , to avoid the inevitable discoloration.

Great fresh-made food and fast service! We had the chocolate milk shake - delicious. We also started with loaded cheese fries which had a TON of cheese, bacon, chives and amazing ranch dressing for dip. Our inner fat kids were in total bliss. We each had a cheeseburger (which has been voted Best Burger in Town for 12 years running), and of course, these too were fantastic. If you're in the area and want a good happy hour with great food and fast, friendly service, stop by.

Burgers, onion rings and fries well above average. Service and atmosphere well below average, but I would go back.

This place was just okay, but it has a great location in the heart of the historic district. The seating is uncomfortable and can be rather unpleasant in the heat. The service was slow and the prices were a bit higher than I would have liked considering that the burgers don't come with a side order. The quality of the food was fine- just your typical burgers, wraps, and such.

  • Michael B.

Excellent! All of the food was fresh and the beer was too. We had burgers, ma nachos a trois and chicken fried steak sandwich. What a pleasant surprise... best sandwich ever. The meat was very tender and melts in your mouth. Breading was crispy and flavorful but not greasy. Wonderful atmosphere. and cheap too. What a value. Thank you for a great family lunch!

Good food. Our table ordered quite the variety and no one complained. We had everything from turkey and cheese to mahi tacos. Our waiter was very good and had a great sense of humor. Very large servings. The fried mushroom app was delish.

I live in Jacksonville, FL and have heard a lot of great things about Cruiser's Grill. So I was excited to try it when a friend suggested it for our meal before going on the Lights of Nights Trolley tour in St Augustine. We ordered our drinks and they arrived on time so everything seemed fine until our food started to arrive...in portions. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries for myself and a cheeseburger and chicken chunks for my kids. And my friends and kids also ordered food and drinks. My fries arrived first, and about five minutes later my friend's chicken chunks arrived. We waited about another five minutes until the rest of the food arrived, except for my 4 year old son's chicken chunks and the ketchup and mustard for our burgers. During this time, the waitress was taking the orders from customers at the table next to us while bringing our food in portions. Everyone at our table had been served for at least 5 or 10 minutes and my son still had not received his chicken chunks. I was so upset that I couldn't even enjoy much less start to eat my meal so I went to the kitchen to speak to manager. The manager took his time walking over to speak to me and when he did he was less than apologetic. I ended up taking ketchup off one of the tables and feeling like my voice wasn't heard. The waitress and manager did end up apologizing after we complained about the service for the second time and asked that the waitress to have the manager give a more acceptable apology. But it was too little, too late. The waitress said that we would receive a 20% discount but we actually received a little more than a 10% discount. I hate to write a bad review. Maybe they were having a bad night, but the service and their response to my complaints were unacceptable. I definitely will not be eating at this location again.

For the value, this is one of the best burger I've ever had. The burger was perfectly cooked, the fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, their home made sauces were delicious. The wait staff was very nice. A+ experience.

Stopped here for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Tuna on wrap had no seasoning whatsoever, burgers were over cooked, and fries were just so-so. Would not recommend.

NOM!! Cruiser's has long been a staple to a positive Jacksonville experience, but imagine our delight when we discovered this burger joint expanded south to St. Augustine!! Sporting a fantastic location with a view of the Fort and entrances from both streets it connects, Cruiser's has a few indoor tables with several outdoor booths (which are covered, fanned, or gas lamped as required.) First we enjoyed some succulent fried mushrooms which come with both horse radish and ranch. The single order is plenty large enough for two, unless you are looking for more of a challenge when you put on your blue jeans post-vacation. The batter is light and tasty without that over fried taste. Next we had a standard Cruiser's Burger (amazing) a Black Bean Burger (competent but not overly memorable)and an order of the fully loaded fries complete with cheese, bacon, jalepenos and shame (...) Even though we were contemplating our health care coverage for the eventual stints we would need, the fries are TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! Again, a single order was plenty death wish enough for us. Matt took great care of us and was very attentive. Should you be in the market for a burger we highly recommend you stop by; this will be a must on follow up trips!

  • Mark D.

Great place to eat for great prices. The only reason why I gave it a 3 instead of a 4 is because some of the hamburgers came out plain on a bun with nothing else attached. The black bean hamburger was fabulous. The honey mustard and ranch dressing that comes with the fries- awesome. The staff was very phenomenal. Would eat there again tho

Stopped in from lunch. We sat outside which was very nice being in the historic district. The service was great and the food was very good. I had the tex-mex salad and my girlfriend had the nachos. The nachos were individual chips loaded with meat and cheese. Fixings were provided on the side and were very good. The salad was good as well. We will be back!

My husband and I had the burger of the month special which was a bleu cheese burger. It was excellent, the meat was fresh not frozen and it's easy to tell why they are known for their burgers. However, they shouldn't be known for their service and that's why they get 2 stars. It was about 2:30 on a Monday and there were 3 tables filled in the place, all of them finishing up. The server took our order and a few minutes later we received our burgers. She told us when we ordered that everything was cooked to order and did not sit under heat lamps so sides and main dishes might not come out together. So when we received our burgers and no fries we didn't think anything of it. Time passed no fries, no server. By this time, we were the only customers. Half way through my husband got up to find her and she explained that fries don't come with the burgers. He then handed her the card in the plastic stand on the table that listed the Burger of the Month special ... it plainly said it came with fries. She turned around and went to yell at someone in the kitchen. A few minutes later we got our fries which were also very good. She could have made this right with us by simply apologizing but she didn't and no other person working there seemed to care either. I guess she thought she had lost her tip so might as well ignore us. I totally understand slip -ups but not knowing what the monthly special was 8 days into the month is inexcusable. Not checking with us to ensure everything was okay - inexcusable. Ignoring us and not saying sorry- inexcusable. I still tipped because the meal was good and it is the right thing to do. What I won't do is go back.

Great burgers but you have the try the ranch it is to die for! They have great milkshakes they are so good they don't even have whipped cream! My family and I love this place it is very affordable. The staff is very pleasant! Must try this place!

If you're in the historic area and you're searching for cheap eats, then this is probably your best bet. My wife and I both had carry-out burgers with fries from here, and they were pretty good at a reasonable price. However, I didn't realize when I ordered that they have no parking lot and it required a good bit of on-foot travel to pick up my food. Good food, but nothing spectacular or worth going out of your way for. (Also, I ordered my burger medium rare and it was nearly well done, big difference)

The food is very good. The portions are huge. The service is great...and thr prices are very reasonable. All the sauces are homemade and you can tell by the flavor. Really good!

Cheap beer and good eats made this the perfect place to stop for dinner. It was pretty empty so we were with early or late for the dinner rush which was fine for us. $2 drafts, nicely priced menu items (everything is sold separately) and a beautiful day to sit outside. The waitstaff were very attentive and our good arrived quickly and hot. It was somewhat fast or bar food but it hit the spot after eating a lot of fancy food for the past several days. Weird note about this location and I'm not sure if others have had this but I had no cell reception at all while eating. It was great since everyone had to put down their phones and talk

I wasn't very impressed after trying this place two times. The burgers are over priced in my opinion. I will say the only thing worth mentioning is that their ranch dressing is really good.

We needed a quick bite and found this place right on the North End of Historic St. George Street. We sat down outside and waited for someone to come over and clean the table, but that never happened. It took a while to get a waiter to take our order. I got the chicken quesadilla while my husband ordered the marinated chicken soft taco. The food wasn't as bad as some people on here have suggested, it was actually good. I would however question the cleanliness of the place and the slacker attitude of the whole establishment. I get the whole laid back beach feel, however, not when running a business and trying to accommodate customers! I'm giving this place two stars but it could definitely do better if it "cleans up its' act!"

  • Chad H.

Hate to say it (being in the food business, I hate to give bad reviews), but overall, a terrible experience. The food that we got was good, but one burger never came, and you wouldn't know it, because the food did not come out together. 2 burgers, then a chicken, appetizers in the middle of the meal, and we were all nearly finished, when the waitress came back and realized she missed a burger completely. Terrible service. One of the first places as you walk into the historic area. ..... Walk a little further ...

  • Steven B.

I've been there a few times because I love a good burger. Each time, I had a Cheddar Burger with fries. They push the side of ranch dressing for $0.50 extra and over salt the fries worse than I've ever experienced but if you don't get the mediocre dressing and ask them to go easy on the salt... you'll get really, really good fries. The burger was fresh and delicious. I really wanted a monster burger that stood out from every other burger I've had and that's how I got to Cruisers. I didn't get my monster burger and I only needed one napkin :-) but it was good and I do recommend it. The service was good; they're young kids that have a great attitude! Cruisers will get my business again.

5 stars for what it is a place downtown st auguustine that service beer and burgers good service inexpensive food good tasting food right in the heart of st george street great place to stop, get a drink and a snack and not break the bank like other places in the area will definitely go back

  • Charlene C.

If it was possible to give a minus one, this place would get it. The waitress maybe just wandered in off of the street and put on a t-shirt with the logo, but did not get the concept that eating food may require napkins or utensils. Does this place assume everything can be eaten with one's feet or hands? Then there was the food. If the kitchen was to be checked, I would not be surprised to find cat food and dog kibble being served to unsuspecting customers. The fish tacos were possibly roadkill and the fries were salt licks disguised as potatoes. The bottled beer, adjacent parking lot and the outdoor seating were the only palatable things about this place.

Cruisers has the best comfort food. Love the burgers, but my favorites are the marinated chicken nachos and the fries with ranch dressing. My husbands favorite is the Chicken Fried Steak sandwich. Yes, I am a local and yes, downtown parking is a pain. But, we have to get our Cruisers fix every month or so. Plus, anytime our family comes, they love Cruisers too.

Not a bad local joint. Had medium size party. Service was reasonable. Food portions were decent. Had beef tacos not really anything to write home about. Chips and queso was good. Fried mushrooms were good. A good local joint. Decently priced.
